Please tell us how you found the program, and what ways we might promote the program so others can learn about it.
1. I think there is already great promotion out there.
2. Through the L.A. County Dept. of Rehabilitation. Sending flyers to residents in L.A. County.
3. While researching the website for paralegal courses, I found your program. Post flyers in courts, attend college workshops and contact organization educational directors so that they can pass the information to their employees regardless of type of employment.
4. I found it while searching for a paralegal program online. It didn't take too long to find. Since it's an online program, perhaps reaching out to other parts of California or beyond would be helpful. I don't know what that would entail. I looked for it on the internet, and it wasn't too hard to find.
5. I found the program by browsing the college website. I was looking for a some sort of legal program and this one sounded good so I checked into it and registered for classes. Plus the campus being convenient to home is a big plus.
6. I found online. You could place an add with the LSI groups (Legal Secretaries, Inc.). I'm sure there are many Legal Secretaries who would be interested in taking your courses.
7. I found this program simply by investigating the state system and then finding, much to my surprise and pleasure, that I can complete the entire course online without ever once stepping onto a campus. Further, while many schools offer that ability, the program at L. A. Mission College is part of the state system and several classes transfer directly into CSU and UC.
8. through a relative who attends Mission.
9. I would like it to go just a couple of days slower and that is about it.
10. I found it browsing for alternatives and classes to take online. the program was listed in a pamplet with options for online education.
11. found this program on the internet while comparing local colleges. Perhaps more internet advertising?
12. I living in Sylmar not too far from the College and I just happen to walk to see what kind of program the College have and the Paralegal was something I always wanted to do But I was afraid to do it until I went to Mission College and started to take classes and I love it. is the being after this I planning to go to Law school.
13. I learned about the program while attending the school. I'm not sure how else to promote it. It already comes up on the internet. The catalog does not feature it particularly well, perhaps something could be done there.
14. Accidently. I heard about ITV and was going to take a class. After I applied to that program and went to Mission College to drop of papers I read the Mission website and found this program.
15. I found the program by way of co-workers who had previously gone through. Notices to law offices that may be interested in sending employees through a quick program may be helpful.
16. Online. Maybe letter campaign to law firms, local colleges. Offer referral fee.
17. searching thru the internet.
18. I was looking to take a few online course and was looking at the LACCD sites when I found the program and here I am.
19. I discovered the Los Angeles Mission College Paralegal Certification Program via internet search.
20. An aquaintance mentioned she was taking the program.
21. I took Law 1 years ago for transfer credit, at the same time I scrolled the webpage on the program and was instantly hooked on it.
22. I found the program through a search of on-line classes on the Internet.
23. through the la mission website and a former graduate.
24. I found the program by browsing the internet. I think the internet works very well at least for me. Thank you.
25. by researching the web... re online paralegal programs in California.
26. Your program was alittle hard to find. I live in the eastern states and had to do a search for each state that had a creditable program before I found LAMC.
27. I found your program accidentally. I was helping my son with his financial aid paper work when I read the catelog. Read about your legal program and liked it. Saw it as a way to stay involved with what I have done for past 35 years (locking up AND helping those that I have locked up to become productive and law abiding someday). Clients and their familys assumed that I knew lots about law just by what I did. Always had questions that I never had the answer to about various legal issues. I felt lots of frustration in not being able to answer or even make the appropriate referral. Hopefully I will find a new nitche in your program that will keep me involved in helping the underdog in legal issues.
28. I found it using a search engine.
29. I found the program by searching online for a paralegal program in my area.
30. I started calling around. There are LOTS of expensive programs out there and they advertise by using the internet search engines. The program locally that I considered was a drive, and was five thousand dollars through UC Davis. But I prefer the autonomy of this program. I have been working now autonomously for an attorney, doing forensic legal work. I did this for my government job, before retiring, and had passed the CPA. i would like to help people who are victim of fraud, and/or straighten out messes with difficult partners, and/or to help divide the pie in a messy property split. So, I am working on my own right now. I would see if you could get articles in local papers. And, I would try unusual approaches, like contacting rancherias where the local Indians are living as millionnaires (true) and tell them they could learn the law--to protect their assets, for one thing. Or, I would contact non-profit organizations and tell them of the program. They need these skills too. For example, the Church of Scientology is filled with people who live in their residence halls in Hollywood, and they might like another skill beside auditing. They seem to do a lot of self-help and inside care for their own, and for example, they have caretakers for elders of the church, so they may want to do their own legal documents. I can go on and on with ideas. I am good at publicity work. Ha.
31. Found it randomly when searching for online programs on the internet. Keep advertising as a completely online program and I think that will appeal to people who are working or out of the area.
32. Looked for paralegal courses on the computer and like magic, there you were. Promote the program through charter high schools so the kids know when they graduate, they can get a job skill in 18 mo online while working elsewhere. Put info in with disablity offices and include yourself as part of job retraining.
33. LAMC
34. Online research.
35. I was specifically looking for an online accredited school, in California, that allows the student to recieve a certificate in paralegal studies as well as a degree. I found the Mission program by conducting an EXTENISVE Internet search. I found that Mission Colleges paralegal program was listed on only one website; "dmoz.org." To promote the program better so others can learn about it would be to make it easier to find through Internet search engines.
36. I found the program while attending Mission for a previous degree in a different field. There are many internet mass mailings to come to me every day advertising degrees and certificates in different fields. I think this would promote Mission's program and would like to see this method tried.
37. I just went looking on the Internet advertize at the other LACCD campuses.
38. I found it online. You're doing a great job promoting it through the internet.
39. I found the program through internet site. It was very easy to view.
40. by accident
